Flint 2nds traveled to Port Sunlight for an early kick off game. The first half saw some early pressure from a far heavier Port Sunlight pack who took full advantage of the down hill slope of the pitch to score an early try. Some quick handling between the forwards and backs allowed Tim Potter Sinton in for a try which was converted by no10 Damien Goss. Port were soon back on the score sheet with a try but failed to add the extra points, Flint then got themselves back into the game after a good forwards move and some good play by centre Kieran Jones set up Ryan Tyrone for a easy run in to score a try under the posts which fly half Damian Goss converted.
Flint were put under the cosh by a well drilled Port Sunlight pack but some brave defending and never say die attitude saw them take the lead through another good back move which allowed Tyrone in for another try converted by Goss. Port kept on the constant pressure which allowed them to score a try to bring the score within a point with only minutes remaining. Flint responded immediately with a try from no 8 Marc Bridge which was converted by substitute fly half Ryan Beck which gave Flint a good advantage with minutes remaining. Port however managed to bundle themselves over for an unconverted try to reduced the score to one point. Flint finished the stronger team to seal the win.
Great performance by all. Well done.
